Philly’s FIFA Club World Cup ends with a packed Linc and fireworks, as Chelsea tops Palmeiras
Philly hosted its last FIFA Club World Cup game Friday night and it had all the thrills, noise and literal fireworks that any Fourth of July event deserves.
English side Chelsea returned to Lincoln Financial Field for the third time this summer and defeated Brazilian side Palmeiras, 2-1, in front of 65,782 fans, the stadium’s best attendance this tournament. Continue reading …

The Historical Society of Pennsylvania hosts this convo with author Paul Kahan and historian Emma Lapsansky-Werner, exploring how diversity, civic conflict, and reform have shaped Philadelphia’s identity across centuries. The program will also explore the role of archives, museums, and preservation efforts. Books can be purchased and signed. View the exhibit: Voices of the Community: Local Black Preservation.
