Gamers re-create Independence Hall — in Minecraft

It took 24 years to build Independence Hall, from 1732 to 1756. It took a handful of Minecraft gamers just two months to do the same, virtually.

What is a fach? Beyond soprano, mezzo or tenor, a fach is even more specific to range, weight and color of the voice. Classical singers are often put into these boxes, but with All Fached Up, this is a no-rules show! Performers are encouraged to sing whatever they want, gender bend, dress in drag, do what they can’t do in a typical performance setting. At Glory Beer Bar & Kitchen in Old City. $17.85 per person. Thursday to Sunday, July 24 to 27: North Philadelphia History Festival
A cultural celebration of the African American and Puerto Rican communities in North Philly. Historic sites along Ridge Avenue, N. Broad Street and other locales will be transformed into living exhibits created by artists, historians, curators and other cultural workers. These multimedia projects and events will explore the emergence and impact of these communities in the 19th and 20th century. All free and open to the public. View the map & schedule here.

Thursday, July 24: Open Streets Passeggiata!
The 1800 block of East Passyunk Avenue (between Moore and Mifflin streets) will have no cars, for a pedestrian-friendly block party with businesses spilling into the street. Live music, beach-themed seating and blissful vibes under the stars for dining, strolling and shopping. (5 to 9 p.m.) 

Thursday, July 24: EAGLES – A CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON w/ The Philadelphia Orchestra
