MAYOR WATCH

Mayor Parker, Council President Kenyatta and School District Superintendent Watlington pledged to preserve 340 school positions that they would find a “dedicated, recurring local revenue source” to continue. Their announcement comes a week after Council approved Parker’s proposed city budget and the District approved plans to close schools.
