It’s a big weekend in Philadelphia. It starts with the Eagles parade on Friday, Valentine’s Day — and ends with Presidents Day on Monday, Feb. 17.
If you’re planning to use the holiday to run some errands or you’re unsure whether to put out your trash, here’s a list of city office and service schedules for Monday.
Health Centers
City health centers operated by the Department of Public Health will be closed.
SEPTA
Buses, trolleys, and trains will run on a regular schedule. It’s a holiday, but not a weekend.
Parking
Meters, kiosks and residential parking time limits will be enforced as usual. There are only nine holidays a year on which the Philadelphia Parking Authority does not enforce parking rules — though the PPA did suspend fines for parking violations for Friday’s Eagles parade.
USPS offices will be closed.
Parks
Philadelphia Parks & Recreation facilities and gated parking lots will be closed.
Trash and recycling
Trash and recyclables won’t be collected on Monday, Feb. 17. Collection will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week.
Schools
All School District of Philadelphia schools and offices will be closed on Friday, Feb. 14, and Monday, Feb. 17.
Libraries
All the Free Library of Philadelphia branches will be closed on Friday, Feb. 14, and Monday, Feb. 17. But several locations will be open on Saturday, Feb. 15.
311 services
The Philly311 contact center will be closed, but you can submit or track a service request through the Philly311 mobile app and online forms.
Other offices closed on Monday:
- Department of Licenses and Inspections
- Marriage License Department (sorry, all those people who proposed at the Eagles parade!)
- Philadelphia Parking Authority executive offices
