Neighborhood Jawnts spread the 250th love throughout the city

From deep South Philly to the tip of the Far Northeast, free “Neighborhood Jawnts” tours of 20 different areas of the city will roll out over the next few months as part of this year’s Philadelphia 250 celebrations.

Tours will continue every weekend through October, visiting signature neighborhood destinations like Manayunk’s Tow Canal, the Frankford Arsenal, ethnic markets in the Northeast’s Lower Bustleton and many more. Continue reading…

MAYOR WATCH

Mayor Parker proclaimed Friday, May 9, 2026 to be “Project 440 Founder’s Day” in recognition of the group’s youth programs and founder, Joseph Conyers. 

Parker also touted the arrival of food manufacturer Bonduelle Americas to Philadelphia as its U.S Growth Hub. The company is based in France; it’s Philly operations will be out of 2400 Market Street.
