Author Archives: Rossilynne Culgan
As Director of The Incline, Rossilynne Culgan strives to tell new and untold stories about Pittsburgh and help Pittsburghers navigate our town.
She joined The Incline staff in June 2017, writing about food, culture, the arts, local history — and just about everything in between. Her coverage ranges from guides (that you’ll probably want to bookmark now) to the intersection of food and news (and even food history) to that Pittsburgh 's' story that broke the Internet.
Rossilynne's contributions earned two 2018 Golden Quills from The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania, one for Eating the Turnpike: All of Pennsylvania’s 15 East-West Rest Stops, Ranked, and a second for a popular series she edits, Four One Brew.
Rossilynne’s food and culture commentary has also appeared in Thrillist and About.com (where she served as Pittsburgh expert). Previously, Rossilynne was a reporter for the Tribune-Review, covering everything from crime to education and local government, and editor-in-chief of The Daily Collegian while she was a student at Penn State University. She also has experience in marketing and public relations from her time as as assistant director of marketing and communications at Carnegie Science Center. Incidentally, her work in nonprofit communications earned her a spot on The Incline’s inaugural Who’s Next class.
She’s a member of the Collegian’s Alumni Interest Group and the Women’s Press Club of Pittsburgh, for which she built a website and social media presence. Rossilynne grew up on a Western Pa. farm and now lives in the Strip District with her husband Shane.
