In what may become the strangest lost sign Cincinnati — or anywhere else, for that matter — has ever seen, Eagles legend Jason Kelce has lost his Super Bowl LII ring in an inflatable pool of Skyline Chili.

The former Eagles center revealed on his “New Heights” podcast Wednesday that the ring is missing after being used as a prop in the “Lombaby Games” event the podcast held last week at the University of Cincinnati. In the competition between the Bearcats’ student-athletes and regular students, the ring was used specifically in the stage that involved kiddy pools filled with Cincinnati’s famous Skyline Chili.

Jason’s brother Travis didn’t offer any of his rings for this event, and instead provided  a level of disappointment that any sibling knows all too well.

Why wasn’t someone in charge of immediately recovering the ring after the event? Why weren’t two replica rings used? How embarrassing will this be to explain on an insurance form? These are questions that probably should have been raised.

Kelce seemed already resigned to simply replacing the ring. Last year, he was seen on camera struggling to locate the ring in his house while filming a documentary for Amazon Prime Video

Will the original ever turn up? Maybe if a diligent, benevolent and incredibly lucky Cincinnatian — or an Eagles fan willing to travel to the Queen City — is willing to scour the local dumps to find it.
