Revamped Washington Avenue offers improved river access
The new “connector street” project is the largest of several aiming to encourage use of the Delaware River Trail and the waterfront.
The $9.5 million project has created a wide sidewalk and raised asphalt bike path with more than 60 new trees and other plantings, and new benches, bike racks and trash cans. Continue reading…
New neighborhood event series aims to boost voter participation
“Beyond the Ballots” is a new initiative bringing free food, music, giveaways and voter education to satellite election offices across the city this summer. There are 10 Satellite Election Offices around Philly, providing permanent spaces for residents with voting-related questions and tasks.
People can register to vote, drop off or receive election materials like mail-in ballots, and update their registration. Continue reading…
