Philadelphia’s premier monthly comedy show that features all women and queer comics. Open mic welcomes anyone and everyone, however we center women and queer comics. At Tattooed Mom.
Moth Night at Norris Square Park – (8 to 11 p.m.)
Come explore the nocturnal biodiversity of West Kensington at Moth night! We’ll gather and set up a sheet with UV lights that will attract insects. Who will we see? We don’t know! We’ll find out on Friday. We’ll likely see moths, beetles, and an assortment of other critters TBD. Meet in the center circle of Norris Square Park at 8pm. Feel free to bring whatever will make your moth night awesome, including but not limited to a chair, water, a snack, a camera, a sketchpad, and/or a blanket. $5 tickets.

Vinyl Press with the Consonant Collective – (4:30 p.m.)
Come cut your own record and design an album cover. Joe and Katie will bring one of their vintage record machines from the 1940s and teach you how vinyl records are made: all while your own record gets made in front of your eyes. You will need 5 minutes or less of audio as an .mp3 file. Space will be limited. At Chestnut Hill Library.
Bridging Blocks | Gun Rights, Realities, Risks, and Responsibility – (5:30 to 7:30 p.m.)
Countries such as the UK, New Zealand, Canada and Australia have enacted significant gun control laws. What makes the U.S. the exception? What risks and responsibilities come with the Second Amendment? Is the current system the most effective, or should we consider alternatives? This is a facilitated community conversation in which attendees will engage directly with one another in a moderated setting. Rather than a lecture or presentation, the program is designed to encourage dialogue, the exchange of perspectives and shared learning among participants. Circle Jawn Singers Citywide Sing – (7 to 8:30 p.m.)
If you love music, improv, and expanding the horizons of what your voice can create in community, this is for you. Spontaneous choral experiences, vocal improvisation games, and a cappella jams. It’s just like “Whose Line is it Anyway?”, but for musical dorks. No special musical talent or training is required to participate. BYO water bottle. At the Philadelphia Ethical Society.

African Restaurant Week begins
A celebration of the best of African, African American and Caribbean cuisine. Discounted menus at participating restaurants from July 16 – 26! Plus, a food and music festival at Love Park on July 26.
Cemetery Founders Tour – (4 to 5 p.m.)
A special tour exploring the history of the founders of The Woodlands Cemetery, a group who saved William Hamilton’s Woodlands Estate from industrialization in 1840. The tour will begin at the Hamilton Mansion with a brief history and then we will explore the grounds. The tour is rain or shine. $10 tickets.

Small group outdoor yoga classes in Aiyah’s courtyard on select Thursdays this summer. “Olamina” story circle – (6 p.m.)
Why dream of a new world when we can build one together? Futurefull is hosting a live, multicultural storytelling event every third Saturday this summer. With drums, song, music, and dice, come play in our circle and tell the story of a brighter future inspired by traditional Jamaican storytelling. Take the role of an ancestor of a girl in the deep future named Olamina; together, we inspire or challenge her as we play through a day in her life. Every conflict is resolved with a dice role, and every resolution is turned into call-and-response song. If you love TTRPGs, storytelling, improvising, and play, this is for you.
