This eclectic concert has been taking place in a Philly living room for the last 40 years
A little slice of European musical tradition has been taking place in a Philadelphia apartment every month from September through May for the past four decades.
Back in 1986, Clearfield began welcoming guests into her home. Once inside, they would take their shoes off, squeeze together inside her living room, sit on the floor, and watch 10 different music ensembles perform 10-minute sets.

SEPTA unveils wishlist, but no sign of funding for improvements and upgrades
SEPTA’s blueprint for “best-in-class” service includes new vehicles and shorter wait times, but it all hinges on consistent funding, which doesn’t exist yet.
“Whenever we’re called upon, we want to be there and be ready. But we have a 40-year-old fleet on Broad Street that we have to replace. That’s not funded and not budgeted,” said Scott Sauer, SEPTA’s general manager. Continue reading…
