Owner John Bucci said he’s cutting back hours to ensure quality, because it’s hard to find staff who’ll put in the effort and care. The crowd-favorite South Philly shack (which won our Ultimate Sandwich Bracket last year) will now be open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Hayden Mink of Humble Dumplings is doing food for the Wednesday through Sunday pop-up this year, with a menu that also includes rice bowls and “shareable” tacos.
According to her FB page, upcycling artist Emily Seilhammer has been saving the colorful papers for four years for this project. She and her husband originally met over a pack of the chewy candies, so she was inspired to create something related.

|What||The South Philly Association of Dog Owners teamed up with Companion Pet Hospital and VSEC to take over Columbus Square Park for what they hope will be the largest pooch-centric gathering in Philly. Vendors will hawk pet-friendly items, raffle prizes will be given out and there'll be a dog wash to get clean after all that running in the grass.|
