What’s the latest with SNAP for Philadelphians?
New SNAP changes went into effect earlier this week, and states and recipients will be feeling the effects.
“Historically, states have always shared part of the administrative costs of administering that program with the federal government, and so it used to be a 50-50 deal,” she said. “But a change has been made so that states are now responsible for 75% of those administrative costs.”

Philly’s best parallel parker crowned
Philly’s self-proclaimed best parallel parkers faced off in the first edition of the Philadelphia Parallel Parking Association (PPPA) Championship at South Street’s Headhouse Square on Saturday afternoon.

Mayor Parker joins officials in celebrating the return and expansion of the HBCU Classic in Philadelphia, which grows from one football game last year to a two-game showcase at Lincoln Financial Field on October 30–31, including the return of the HBCU Battle of the Legends on Halloween Saturday, October 31, with DeSean Jackson’s Delaware State facing Michael Vick’s Norfolk State.
